The Russian government approves equity investment in SSTL

Sistema , the largest diversified public financial corporation in Russia and the CIS, which invests in and is a major shareholder of companies operating in different industries, today announced that the Government of the Russian Federation has approved an equity investment in Sistema Shyam TeleServices Ltd. (SSTL), Sistema’s subsidiary in India, which provides telecommunications services under the MTS brand.
It is expected that the Russian Government, represented by the Federal Agency for State Property Management (Rosimushchestvo), will participate in an issuance of additional shares of SSTL, paying an equivalent of US$ 600 million in the form of Indian rupees held in accounts representing Indian governmental debt to the Russian Federation. Nokia, World leader in mobile phones has launched its much awaited mobile ‘ Nokia X2 ‘ in Largest Indian mobile market with price tag of RS.5,999. It’s a budget 5 megapixel camera phone with flash.
The phone is available in Black/Red and Silver/Blue colours and has dedicated camera and music keys. The X2 comes loaded with 48MB internal memory and can be expanded up to 16GB using a microSD card.

Vyke mobile application for BlackBerry enables SMS intercept

Vyke, the global VoIP provider, announced the immediate free availability of its new application for BlackBerry, introducing SMS intercept for the first time. With a fresh clean interface, the Vyke for BlackBerry release 1.2 integrates the usual international calling intercept functionality with the new SMS intercept, allowing Vyke users to route their international calls and SMS directly over the Vyke network rather than their GSM operator. The SMS intercept can be switched on for all SMS or international SMS only. All Vyke users benefit from the ability to make low cost international calls and send cheap international text messaging .
