Aircel 3G finally launched in Chennai| Tariff plans starts from Rs. 132Aircel, which made its strong presence in the year 2010 with an impressive pan India network rollout, continues its growth by announcing the much awaited launch of its 3G services in India starting from Chennai.  Last year Aircel made a strong commitment to the potentially fast growing data market in India, by grabbing 3G licenses in 13 telecom circles across India and BWA licenses.

“ We are excited about 3G, as we see it as something that will begin to transform our lives in many ways, 3G will collapse all barriers. It will revolutionise entertainment since it is a highly interactive medium and bandwidth will not be a constraint,” Aircel Chief Operating Officer Gurdeep Singh said.

“We will launch the 3G services in 11 circles by first week of March and the remaining circles in the middle of March ”, he added .

Aircel 3G services will have something for all segments be the youth, housewives, professionals, children or even the elderly. Aircel 3G data plans will offer to the consumers the best in speed and experience. The 3G local, STD and Roaming Video Call cost will be 5 paisa/sec (Rs.3/minute). The base rate for using aircel 3G is 3 paisa per 10KB and there are dynamic bundled plans for the students, executives, and heavy users addressing all their needs enabling them with Voice, SMS as well as 3G data on Aircel.

Company has also launched sachet pack at Rs. 92 for 100 MB to test high speed experience. There would be also some 3G Dongle plans for  high speed surfing at move .

Last year, Aircel added 50 million new subscribers and expects that around 35 per cent of its subscribers would migrate to the 3G services in the next 5 years.
