Motorola ATRIX 4G Coming Soon On Wireless Carrier AT&TSanjay Jha, CEO of Motorola Mobility, has revealed the most powerful Android powered handset till date, Motorola ATRIX 4G.This handset is powered by dual core 1 GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 SoC Processor and runs on Android 2.2 Froyo OS.

Motorola ATRIX 4G sports a 4-inch display which supports qHD display at a resolution of 960×540 pixels and comes with 1GB of RAM. This handset is capable of running Android’s upcoming OS, Honeycomb. As from various rumors, we found that a dual core processor handset is required to run Android Honeycomb OS smoothly.

Other features of Motorola ATRIX 4G includes dual camera support, front VGA camera at a resolution of 640×480 pixels and back 5MegaPixel camera with AF and LED flash features, Geo tagging, Light Sensor Accelerometer, Multi touch Input Method, Proximity sensor and offers wide range of connectivity option like GPRS,EDGE,Bluetooth,USB,3G and of course 4G (HSPA+) network. Nokia Siemens to bring 42Mbps HSPA network for French Operator SFRNokia Siemens has signed a contract with French operator SFR to provide the 4G technology supporting a speed of 42Mbps. According to International Telecommunications Union’s (ITU) statement, High Speed Packet Access (HSPA) can now officially called as 4G.

This decision was taken, after ITU said that as this advance 3G technology along with the LTE and WiMAX can be used for describing this next generation network as 4G. As this rollout could not take place immediately, as there are many obstacles in the way to achieve such a high speed.

On the other hand, T-Mobile, which is a pioneer in providing such a high-speed network, is also planning to rollout 42Mbps or HSPA+ network in all over the 100 markets where it has its hold. But, it is expected that T-Mobile will launch this HSPA network only in the early 2011. T-Mobile is also planning to launch 650Mbps version of HSPA+ network in future with Nokia-Siemens network. AT&T Buys $2 billion worth of 4G Spectrum from Qualcomm Inc

AT&T Buys $2 billion worth of 4G Spectrum from Qualcomm Inc  Dallas Based AT&T is buying nearly about $2 billion worth of broadcast spectrum from Qualcomm Inc. AT&T will use this spectrum to strengthen its high-speed 4G network. Qualcomm Inc was previously using this spectrum for its FLO TV, which allows the subscriber to watch TV on their cell phones.

Qualcomm shuts down this service due to lack of interest among peoples, and it cost Qualcomm $132 million to run. This spectrum will cover 70 million people in New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and San Francisco along with 230 million people in the rest of the country.

Customers of current Iphone and Smartphones on AT&T network will not able to use these services because of hardware limitation, but upcoming Iphone and Smartphone will support this service in future. (more…)

TDC partners with Ericsson for 4G / LTE network solutionsDenmark’s leading operator TDC is about to upgrade their network to 4G and has chosen Ericsson to supply and manage the nationwide network. Under the deal, Ericsson will roll out a complete 4G/LTE solution – including radio access and core network equipment as well as managed services.

This is Ericsson’s first full-scope managed service contract for an LTE/Evolved Packet Core (EPC) network. The roll out of the network will start immediately. TDC wants to introduce 4G in six cities, including Copenhagen, in January 2011.

Airtel officially declares to launch apple Iphone4 in India by OctAirtel, India’s largest telecom service provider has finally revealed its plans to launch iPhone 4, Apple’s Latest Record breaking smartphone. Sanjay Kapoor, CEO, Bharti Airtel, CEO At a industry conference of CII has announced about the company’s plans to launch iPhone 4 in the country by October this year. He also mentioned that the company is closely working with Apple on the same. Before Airtel announcement Another major Operator Vodafone Essar has already declared its plans of rolling out iPhone 4 in India.

Bharti Airtel already sells iPhone 3GS in India at a Price of Rs 35,500 for the 16GB model and Rs 41,500 for the 32GB model. With the launch of third generation mobile services in the country by the end of this year, the sale of such high end devices are likely to get a boost. (more…)
