Aircel officially launches GSM mobile services in Haryana

Aircel, India’s 5th no. Telecom Operator has announced the official launch of its GSM mobile services in Haryana. Though Aircel was available in major cities of haryana from last month (May 2010) but now they declared it officially. With this launch now Aircel has a subscriber base of over 40 million and have presence in 20 out of 23 telecom circles in India.
Aircel has Introduced Attractive tariff’s for both Local and STD calls. For local calls their is an in-built reduction in tariffs, where 60 paise will be charged for the first minute, 50 paise for the second minute and 40 paise for the third minute onwards. For STD calls, the first minute will cost 75 paise and 50 paise from the second minute onwards.
The popular unlimited internet pack is also launched in Haryana with other innovative Pocket Internet cards like, dialer tunes, free games and wall papers for a period of 30 days at a cost of Rs 98.

Aircel presents Facebook updates on SMS

Aircel group, A joint venture between Maxis Communications Berhad of Malaysia and Sindya Securities & Investments Private Limited today introduced Facebook updates on SMS service to its prepaid and postpaid subscribers. Now user can see and post status updates, comment, like, poke and more from their mobile phones as SMS without any need of GPRS or internet.To enable this service, simply go to Facebook and log in to you account, go to Account Settings tab, under the ‘Mobile’ tab, select ‘Register for Facebook Text Messages. Now select ‘Aircel India’ as your mobile provider from drop down menu and select India as a country and Aircel India as you carrier and press next. Now using your mobile phone, send a text message containing only the letter F to 51555 (SMS charges at 50 paisa) and wait for a message, after receiving the SMS from 51555, simply enter activation/confirmation code mentioned in the SMS to enable this service. Now user can post status updates, comment, like, poke and more. To post status updates on Facebook profile, just write SMS and send it to 51555. More >
Aircel Peek A dedicated qwerty Device for instant e-mails

Aircel, one of the largest cellular service providers in India introduced the Aircel Peek A Dedicated Email Device. Aircel Peek device supports Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Excel, Word, PDF and various other image formats and equipped with full QWERTY keypad, security lock, and powerful battery. By look it seems to be a blackberry mobile handset but it doesn’t receive any calls , Its only for the purpose of Emails on the move with ease of qwerty keypad and large screen. Currently this device is available is now available in Croma, Aircel Stores, Staples stores and E-Zone stores across the country at a price of Rs. 2999.

Aircel launches GSM services in northern India

Aircel, A joint venture between Maxis Communications of Malaysia and Apollo Hospital Enterprise of India will soon start its attractive GSM services for residents of Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan states. As part of growing its pan-Indian presence, Aircel is expected to roll out services in these three circles* in April and has selected Nokia Siemens Networks to supply the GSM network and manage it for four years as part of a deal worth in excess of 300 million USD
Nokia Siemens Networks will supply the radio, core and microwave network equipment and roll it out quickly and cost efficiently. Its offerings will not only help Aircel reduce its network’s carbon footprint, but also prepare it to launch 3G services in the future. Nokia Siemens Networks has earlier supplied a GSM network and related services to Aircel for the cities of Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai, and is the number one provider of managed services in India.
