Spectranet Partners With Aircel to provide wifi services

Spectranet, a next-gen cloud-based services provides has partnered with Aircel to offer high speed Internet access to Aircel customers on WiFi. Spectranet Wi-Fi service can be accessed by Aircel subscribers on all kinds of Wi-Fi enabled devices including mobile phones, laptops and tablets.
Aircel subscribers can access the Wi-Fi services by latching onto the “aircel_spectranet” SSID and following a simple two-step registration process. Spectranet has deployed Wi-Fi network at over 1000 hot-spots across six metros Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai and Hyderabad. Aircel 3G finally launched in Chennai

Aircel, which made its strong presence in the year 2010 with an impressive pan India network rollout, continues its growth by announcing the much awaited launch of its 3G services in India starting from Chennai. Last year Aircel made a strong commitment to the potentially fast growing data market in India, by grabbing 3G licenses in 13 telecom circles across India and BWA licenses.
“ We are excited about 3G, as we see it as something that will begin to transform our lives in many ways, 3G will collapse all barriers. It will revolutionise entertainment since it is a highly interactive medium and bandwidth will not be a constraint,” Aircel Chief Operating Officer Gurdeep Singh said.
“We will launch the 3G services in 11 circles by first week of March and the remaining circles in the middle of March ”, he added .
Aircel 3G services will have something for all segments be the youth, housewives, professionals, children or even the elderly. Aircel 3G data plans will offer to the consumers the best in speed and experience. The 3G local, STD and Roaming Video Call cost will be 5 paisa/sec (Rs.3/minute). Aircel to launch 3G services before World Cup

Mobile Service Provider, Aircel is planning to launch its 3G services in India before the start of World Cup. World Cup is scheduled to begin on February 19. Aircel chief operating officer Gurudeep Singh said on Thursday.
Aircel is aiming to launch its 3G services across in all 13 circles. Aircel also has Broadband Wireless Internet (BWI) license for 8 circles. Aircel is still evaluating which technology to use for offering there services, WiMax or LTE.
“We are poised for a data usage explosion in this country, as broadband can only reach the masses with wireless,” he said. He admitted however, that 3G set ownership among customers were still in the low single digit percentage. (more…)
Aircel Introduces Voice Updates for Facebook

Aircel, one of the leading telecom service provider in India, has introduces an innovative way to connect with your friends, family and colleagues on Facebook called Facebook Voice Updates.
This technology does not need a mobile internet connection to set Facebook status. To set or to change your Facebook status, all you need to do is dial a short code to record your voice message and then post it as your status on Facebook. Interestingly, your friend will receive an SMS about your new status, to which then can reply back with a voice message.
