Blyk on Aircel, A Youth focused Mobile Service in India

Aircel, a leading telecom player with Pan-India operations has partnered with Blyk, a UK based organization to launch “Blyk on Aircel”, India’s first Interactive, Youth focused Mobile Service Anytime Anywhere. With this service youths can procure free talk time, GPRS packs and more, if they agrees to receive adverts on their mobile phones.
Blyk on Aircel users will be sent content by way of messages, both SMS and MMS, across categories i.e. Entertainment, Sports, Lifestyle comprising travel, fashion, wellness, gadgets etc. and Other activities such as city specific events, dating & relationships tips, Comics and careers advice.
As users respond to the content and indicate their preferences, after a period of 6-8 weeks, they are then sent content from their areas of interest and finally that is tailored to their individual preferences which further helps in relevant interaction with the Youth and active brand engagements. Aircel 3G Network Contract awarded to Ericsson

Aircel, India’s No. 5 telecom operator has awarded Ericsson a contract to roll out a 3G/HSPA network across six out of its total 13 circles. These six circles namely Tamil Nadu Bihar; Orissa; Jammu Kashmir; North East; and Assam serves more than 100 million subscribers and Ericsson will be Aircel’s largest partner for 3G implementation. Last week Aircel and Ericsson made the first successful 3G call in Chennai and Coimbatore.
Under the agreement with Aircel, Ericsson will provide core, radio and transmission network equipment as well as related services such as network rollout, network technology and consulting, radio network optimization and support services. Aircel is planning to launch its 3G services in India in the January-March quarter of 2011. (more…)

With this calling card which are offering per minute tariffs one can save up-to 85% on ISD calls.

Aircel to launch 3G services in India in by 2011

Aircel, India’s 5th largest GSM service provider has announced they will launch its 3G services in India in the January-March quarter of 2011 by investing $500 million. The company has won spectrum for 13 new circles across the country.
“The company will launch 3G services in the first quarter (January-March quarter) of next year,” Aircel COO Gurdeep Singh told reporters here.The company will plan to invest $1 Billion for the entire 2G and 3G network in 2011.They also told to media that they will finalise the 3G equipment manufacturer by next week.
