T-Mobile UK Changing Its Data Plan

In this New Year, at CES event we have seen many 4G, even a dual core device which where proudly announced by Motorola and LG. It seems that different carriers are going take this era business to a next level to accommodate all these new capabilities into a mobile device.
We came to know that, T-Mobile UK is going to cap their data plans to a 500 MB limit, however calming that their so called “unlimited data plan” was unlimited for browsing the net, which supposedly not include watching videos on YouTube or downloading any file.
T-mobile is not the only carrier, which is putting a cap on the data limit, there are many other such carriers like Vodafone, O2 who have already done this. (more…)
Low Mobile Termination Rates may bring cheaper calls in New Zealand

According to the New Zealand Commerce Commission, the wholesale prices of mobile network operator for providing services to customers from other network operators should be reduced. The group is appealing for the price of calling mobile phones to drop by 10 cents a minute.
The commission said wholesale prices for voice calls to a mobile network should be set at a cost-based benchmark, starting at a rate of 4.6 cents per minute.
Telecommunications Commissioner Ross Patterson said the reduction in voice call prices was justified because of unique market conditions in this country. “The removal of this barrier will promote vigorous competition for the long term benefit of consumers.” (more…)
Samsung Claims Top Spot in USA Android Smartphone Market

Samsung Telecommunications America (Samsung Mobile), has announced that according to finding of Gartner, a third party research firm, it has achieved top spot as the number one Android smartphone provider in the US in Q3 2010. According to Gartner, Samsung Mobile captured 32.1 percent of the U.S. Android smartphone market in third Quarter of 2010 based on retail sales, an increase from 9.2 percent of the Android smartphone market in Q4 2009.
Samsung Mobile gives the credit of this success to its Galaxy S smartphones, which recently passed the 3 million shipment milestone in the U.S. The Samsung Galaxy S portfolio is packed with premium features and services, including a brilliant 4-inch Super AMOLED display screen, 1GHz Hummingbird Application Processor, (more…)
Airtel Nigeria Crashes Tariff; call anywhere at 20 Kobo per sec

Airtel, Nigeria’s telecoms giant and world’s 5th largest mobile telecommunications operator, has announced a new promotional offer dubbed as ‘the 2Good offer’. This new offer gives Airtel Nigeria customers ‘freedom’ to make calls at just 20 kobo per second after completing the first minute in the day, applies to all on net and off net calls for all local destinations and to the United States ( US ).
In addition, 2Good offers 20 free on net SMSes to every customer with only N100 recharge every month. Airtel customers just need to send *446# to experience 2Good for 30days.

China 3G Subscribers Reach 39 Mln; 295.7 per. rise Over last Year
0China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has revealed that as of the end of October 2010, China had reached 38.64 mln 3G mobile subscribers which is 295.7 rise ( almost 3 times ) from last year. The number of 3G users of each of China’s top three telecommunication operators, China Telecom, China Mobile and China Unicom, exceeded 10 million by the end of October, the MIIT data showed.
Out of total 39 miln user, 10 mln were China Telecom CDMA2000 EV-DO subscribers, 16.98 mln were China Mobile TD-SCDMA subscribers, and 11.66 mln were China Unicom WCDMA subscribers. TD-SCDMA users accounted for 43.9% of total 3G subscribers, with the total number of new 3G users in 2010 to date reaching 25.38 mln. (more…)
