Local calls at 30 paisa with S Tel Power Pack STV in OdishaS Tel, the GSM mobile services of Shiva Group and Bahrain Telecommunications Company has introduced a STV ( Special Tariff Voucher ) Dubbed as ‘ Power Pack ‘ for its customers in Odisha. Priced at Rs. 17 , this STV allows customers to enjoy local calling @ 30p/min for a period of of 1 year. Both new and Old are eligible to take benefits of this voucher.

S Tel Talk Today, Free Tomorrow offer in Bihar and JharkhandS Tel has launched, “Talk Today, Free Tomorrow” (TTFT) plan in Bihar and Jharkhand for its new and existing customers. The TTFT plan allows customers to enjoy as many free local minutes the next day as are utilized by them today. Consumers availing this plan will be informed through an SMS regarding the FREE minutes available to him/her every day. Alternatively, customers can also check their free local balance at any point by dialling *118# from their mobile phones. The offer comes with a validity of 6 months and the product becomes active immediately on purchase. This offer priced at Rs.57 for new and Rs.19 for existing subscribers.

S-Tel launches mobile services in Assam with per sec tariff

S Tel, a joint venture between Siva Group and Bahrain Telecommunications Company (Batelco) has launched mobile services in Assam and offered one paise per second tariff along with other initial promotional offers.  For the passive infrastructure, the company has tied up with various service providers including RCom, Bharti and Vodafone.

S tel starter kit in Assam is available at Rs 49 and has full talk-time on all top-up denominations. S Tel, which also bagged 3G spectrum in three states of Bihar, Orissa and Himachal Pradesh, is in process to arrange an outlay of Rs 700 crore for rolling out services.  For the existing 2G operations, the company has announced an investment of Rs 2000 crore. STel Fastest mobile operator to clock 1 million subscibers in 90 daysSTel India’s newest mobile operator blazes ahead to clocks over 1 million subscriber base spread across 3 circles of Bihar & Jharkhand, Odisha & Himachal Pradesh. The company’s services were launched in December 2009 last year, with UASL license and spectrum to operate in six growth circles, of which three are already operational & the remaining circles of Assam, Jammu & Kashmir and North East will be launched in this calendar year.

STel to shutdown services in Himachal Pradesh, Orissa and Bihar

STel Pvt Ltd, a joint venture between the Siva Group and Bahrain Telecommunications Co (Batelco), has been asked by the Department of Telecom ( DoT ) to shut down the network in all the three regions where it is currently operational. Operator had recently launched its services in Himachal Pradesh, Orissa and Bihar with some attractive tariffs and upto the end of January, STel crossed over five lakh subscribers in all three regions. Mr P. Swaminathan, Director, STel PVt Ltd, confirmed that the company had received the Government notice.

The DoT, in its notice to the company sent on Friday, did not spell out the details of the security concerns leading to the order. However, sources indicated that either the company’s network may not have passed the scrutiny of the security agencies or the Home Ministry may have objected to the Bahrain-based Batelco’s presence in the venture.
