TTL Crosses 80 Mn Mark with 2.14 mn new subscribers in Sept

Tata Teleservices Limited, India’s fastest-growing dual-technology telecom service provider, has added 2.14 million new subscribers (wireless and wireline) in the month of September 2010 to cross the 80-million-subscribers’ milestone in a short span of just over five-and-a-half years since the launch of its mobile telephony services in early 2005. The company closed the month of September with a total of 80,306,495 subscribers (wireless and wireline), as on 30 September 2010.
The crossing of the 80-million-subscribers’ mark by Tata Teleservices Limited and Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Limited is all the more commendable as the company has shown a subscriber growth rate of more than 100 per cent in the last 12 months. (more…)
GSM subscribers data of Top 5 Indian telecos until August

India, One of the largest growing market in the world has added 13.5 million new GSM mobile subscribers In month of August. The total GSM subscribers base stood at over 481 million,Cellular Operators Association of India(COAI) said in its latest figures.
Country’s largest private telecom operator Bharti Airtel added just over 2 million users to take its total subscriber base to 141.25 million and market share at 29.33 percent. Vodafone is in second place with a subscriber base around 113.77 million and market share of 23.62 per cent at the end of August. IDEA Cellular the third largest GSM operator with a subscriber base of little over 15 percent. IDEA Cellular is followed by BSNL with total subscribers of about 70 million. But, Reliance Communication and TTSL are ahead of BSNL if we count CDMA users also. (more…)
275 Million High speed Broadband Users in India By 2015

According to a report by ASSOCHAM, the High-speed broadband subscriber base in India is likely to grow up to 275 million from current 9 million by the next five years (2015), as telecom firms will roll out Broadband Wireless Acess (BWA) air waves that were auctioned in June.

indian telecom industry adds 12.29 mn gsm subscribers June
0India’s continues its Drastic growth in Telecom market by adding ” 12.29 million new subscribers ” in June 2010, reported by COAI ( cellular operators’ association ) on Friday. Now with this addition of 12.29 mn India has a total GSM cellular subscriber base of 456.58 million.
Bharti Airtel, India’s number one GSM operator, added three million new users in June, taking its total subscriber base to 136.6 million. Airtel is still is the telecom leader with a 29.92 per cent market share. on the other hand Vodafone Essar, country’s third-largest mobile phone operator added 2.71 million subscribers during the month, taking its subscriber base to 109 million. Vodafone has market share of 23.89 per cent.
Sixth-ranked Idea Cellular added 2.15 million users in June while Aircel added 1.6 million new customers. State-run telecom firms BSNL and MTNL added 1.09 million and 44,413 new users respectively, taking their subscriber base to 66.88 million (BSNL) and 4.90 million (MTNL).
Indian Mobile subscribers crossed 617 million in May

May 2010 adds up 6.3 million new mobile connections in India making more than “617 million” total number of mobile subscribers in the country. According to data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) on Monday, the wireless user base grew 2.7 percent to 617.53 million in May from 601.22 million in the previous month.
Bharti Airtel leads in May by adding 3 million users making total subscriber base to 133.6 million users.
