Vodafone Essar, one of India’s leading cellular service provider, today launched a unique spiritual service ‘Live Aarti‘ exclusively for its customers in Tamil Nadu. This service helps devotees join prayers in the temple, virtually.
Through the live Aarti service, customers also have the unique option to record their ‘Prarthana’ or prayers and offer it to the deity of their choice. This recorded prarthana is sent to the shrine on a daily basis where the priest plays all these recordings in the Shrine within 3 days.
Vodafone customer can also call at non-Aarti timings to listen to a recorded version of the Aarti. They can also get information about the deity and next live Aarti’s schedule. (more…)
Vodafone launches Star of the Match contest for DLF Indian Premier League

Vodafone to Launch 3G Services in India by next month

Vodafone Essar, India leading telecom operator, has announced that its 3G services will be rolled out by the end of this fiscal year. Vodafone announced this just after the 3G roll out of Aircel. The company has confirmed that 3G roll out will be on a city-wise basis and not state-wise.
“We have a 3G-ready network, currently in optimisation which we will be launching very quickly,” said, Vodafone Essar Director, Naveen Chopra.
Presently, trials are on and the service is expected to be launched in a phased manner by March. The firm has the capability of servicing enterprise customers for fixed line, Mr. Chopra said, adding “we have over 95,000 km of optical fiber and a 3G-ready network.” (more…)
Vodafone presents live streaming of ICC CWC 2011 on ESPN

Vodafone Essar, one of India’s leading cellular service providers, has bagged exclusive rights for live streaming of ESPN Star Sports’ coverage of the ICC CWC 2011, which begins February 19, 2011. As part of this deal, Vodafone’s discerning customers will be able to watch ball-by-ball live coverage of all 49 ODI’s on their mobile phones via ESPN Mobile TV.
Live streaming of CWC matches on ESPN Mobile TV will be available to Vodafone subscribers and can be availed on both 2G (GPRS enabled) and 3G handsets. With a cricketing crazy nation expected to be caught up in a frenzy during the 6 weeks of play, Vodafone subscribers will be able to catch all the live action from the matches being played on the go, anytime, anywhere.
