Review on Videocon GPRS and GSM Services in Haryana I am using Airtel from last 9 years and just 3 days ago i bought a Videocon gsm sim as i was in need of some speedy GPRS Provider because AIRTEL Mobile Office is now giving data speed of Stone age. I dont know why but soothing Green color of Videocon and wonderful logo attracted me!!

I got a new sim in 50 Rs. with 125 Rs, Talktime ( that’s what every Operator is doing to capture the Initial market). I thought that i would be able to Activate GPRS from my talktime (125 Rs ) but unfortunately Videocon DOESNT SUPPORT any SMS based activation service at the moment so the only option was to make an echarge of 96 Rs. Recharge Dealer told me that from last 2 months his Videocon talktime is intact and i am his 3rd customer in whole 2 months to make Videcon Recharge ( that was one of the busiest mobile outlet of my city.

I called to customer care to know about the GPRS settings and a lady was on the call. She was speaking in a manner what we used to talk normally with our friends? No Professionalism at all, I bet either she didn’t undergone any traning or Videcon has hired “Cheap Unknowledgeable executives“. I asked for settings and got the reply “Sir call mat katna ap me abi settings bhej detti hu”Sir message aya apke pas?” , “ab aya?” “abi btati hu”, Then she whispered something with her colleague and told me “ap call katenge ge to setting ajayegi”.  i was laughing on her professional way as Customer care executive and was laughing on “HEIGHT OF PROFESSIONALISM in NEW TELECOM OPERATORS OF INDIA” .

I didn’t recieved any setting and i just restarted my cell and automatically receieved all the settings on Vgprs, Vinternet and Videocon MMS. Now i was excited to try Videcon GPRS which i was expecting to be good as it is new and not congested. First i tried in my mobile and found it really good in browsing,

Then i connected it to my system and did some benchmarkes for Browsing and downloading speed. I found its browsing speed is Really impressive but Downloading speed is just okay. Maximum downloading speed i received was 14kBPS on EDGE network. Normally its 5 to 10 kBps ( 40 to 80kbps ) , The Good thing is Speed is stable througout day and night.

It was not happy ending as Story started after 40 minutes of use as my connection automatically got disconnected which I tried reconnecting no. of times but getting disconnected after 2 seconds. I dialed 121 to contact Customer care but what is this? There was a huge “khad khad khad” noise in background, I cut that call and tried again but same. Finally i connected with clear sound and reported the disconnection problem to CCE. He told me that he is forwarding my call to GPRS Helpline and put my call Hold. After 3 minutes they disconnected my call !!

Fortunately i was able to connect in night but it was Giving frequest Disconnection like 9mb Connection limit of Reliance GPRS. After 1 hour of use it was again completely down  so i dialed 121 to speak to the CCE and Again that disturbing noise in background ( I am attaching that voice recording here ,Just listen it ) Videocon-gsm-poor-voice-quality . Somehow i got connected to the CCE and i told them to forward my call to GPRS helpline. Here i got a funny answer  ”sir it is 10pm now and our GPRS HELPLINE is closed ,they will come back in morning” I felt like that i am calling to local a shop which is closed now.!! I mean What the hell 24*7 services they are providing and is this a “Telecom operator or a Baniya wala shope?” I can’t understand on which parameters they gets license form Governement and WHAT TRAI is doing to monitor their quality!!

After 12 am it worked perfectly, but In morning i was again facing the disconnection problem so i called to Cust-care care and this time again i stumbled over another CCE who was talking to me like he is chatting with his friend. After the Initial qs. he put me on hold and Again disconnected the call after 4 minutes without connecting to GPRS HELPLINE….

So my Overall Experience with Videocon GSM who are making big announcement with large banners and advertisements is very poor. Everything is just limited upto those banners, Reality is horrible. Even i think They should feel shame to call them as a Telecom Operator. Their logo should be “Experience poor change” instead of Experience change

UPDATE: Now after wasting one Week with Stupid, Novice Customer Care Executives Finally I called to VIDEOCON NODAL OFFICER OF HARYANA at 9068054321 and i was amazed while talking to him as he was also a Miraculous Officer like Customer care Executives, Giving the same lame answers like CCE, Moreover he was not able to Speak properly in English ? but thank god atleast he was professional in communication.

UPDATE-2:   Well now after 4 months of Launch there is considerable improvement in GPRS and other services of Videocon But still i cant Call them as a professional operator. They need a lot of other changes.
