BlackBerry Bold 9780 Now Available in India
0Research in motion (RIM) has launched its new Smartphone Blackberry Bold 9780 in India. Blackberry Bold is powered by 624MHz of processor and 512MB of RAM and runs on BB OS 6 platform. The new OS 6 boosts the multimedia feature to then bold 9780.Bold 9780 is the second Smartphone after Blackberry Torch 9800 which runs on OS 6.
Blackberry bold 9780 features a 2.44-inch display screen and packs in a 5MP camera with LED flash feature, internal memory of 256MB and can be expandable with the help of MicroSD up to 32GB.
It supports Dial-up networking (DUN), RIM wireless modem, and has security features like password protection with keyboard lock, AES or Triple DES encryption with Blackberry Enterprise Server, optional support for S/MIME.

Ban on BlackBerry service would be counterproductive

Research In Motion (RIM), the makers of BlackBerry smartphones have suggested forming of a joint consultative forum comprising government, users and service providers for deciding solutions to intercept services likes Enterprise Mail, as banning the service would be ‘counterproductive’.
In a letter to Cabinet Secretary K M Chandrasekhar, Canadian firm virtually refused to provide an intercepting technology for its BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) and said it had provided options to Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) within India’s existing techno-legal framework. (more…)
