Motorola, A telecommunications equipment giant will split into two companies on 4 January 2011. The new companies will be named, Motorola Solutions Inc. and Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc. Motorola is splitting its consumer-oriented side, focused on mobile phones and consumer devices, from the side that provides next-generation communications solutions to government, public safety and enterprise customers. Following the breakup, the company’s current co-CEOs, Greg Brown and Sanjay Jha, will head up Motorola Solutions and Motorola Mobility, respectively.
The breakup is presented to have two simple stories to investors, rather than one complicated one. Though Motorola set the breakup plan in motion in 2008 after prodding from activist investor Carl Icahn. (more…)
Motorola to launch Android based Moto Charm this month in India

Few months back Motorola Mobile announced the launch of its new QWERTY based handset, called Moto Charm. First Moto Charm about to launch in July but postponed to the month of August. According to company, reason for delay was some problems concerning the battery backup.
Moto Charm features motoblur which inserts the social ability and workability which the consumers are looking for, because of these facilities, consumer can syncs contact, messages, photos on various social networking sites and has one-touch social media button.
The time when Android is the demand of masses and all mobile manufacturer are restless to add android handsets in their portfolio, Motorola seems to be very slow in launching its Android based handsets in India.
Motorola announces Mobile TV handset MOTO TV EX245 in India

Motorola announced its new model MOTO TV EX245. Its a 2G GSM based handset, which have features like 3.15 MP camera at the back which provide picture resolution at 2048×1536, Mobile TV ,WAP 2.0/HTML for easy internet surfing.
MOTO TV EX245 comes with a 3.2-inch TFT touch screen at 320×400 pixels resolution at 65k color depth. Main features are support for java MIDP 2.0 applications, built-in Audio/Video player, voice memo, organizer and predictive text input. It houses with a 910 mAh battery which powers the handset for 250 hours on standby mode and gives 4 hours of talk time.
For easier data transfer, this handset has features like GPRS, EDGE, A2DP Bluetooth and High Speed micro USB port. This phone comes in black color, internal memory can be expandable up to 8GB with micro SD card . (more…)
Android powered Motorola Charm coming soon to India

Motorola, the leading mobile phone maker is planning to launch its fourth Android mobile phone in Indian market. Motorola first showcased Charm in July 2010 in United States. The expected retail price of Motorola Charm is Rs.15,000.
Charm was supposed to be launched in July but due to uncovering of some problems concerning the battery backup time, the handset launched in August. Motorola Charm with motoblur inserts the social ability and workability which the consumers are looking for.
