Reliance Communication Launches SMS based Mobile Conferencing Service

Reliance Communication announced the launch of SMS based service for both GSM and CDMA subscribers, and named this service as Group Talk. This is a SMS based voice conference calls, which is a handset independent service. Group talk allows user to enable a conference call amongst a group of nine contacts.
To create a group, user have to type “C <GRP NAME> <Phone Number1 ><Phone Number2>” with phone numbers (both mobile and landline) starting with prefix 91 (for mobile) & STD Code (for landline) and send this as a SMS to 51234323. 5 such groups can be created and a max. Reliance to launch IPTV service soon in Delhi mumbai

Anil Dhirubhai Ambani-led Reliance Communications, which already had a tried IPTV service last year is now planning to launch its much-awaited Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) service in Delhi and Mumbai in the next three-months.
IPTV operates on video signals received via the Net using a set-top box that will make TV viewing more interactive. Moreover, IPTV offers the largest library of national, international and regional video content such as movies and music, among others. Besides, customers can have a choice of over hundred TV channels including High Definition (HD) channels and exclusive Reliance Channels.
IPTV uses standard networking protocols, which promises lower costs for operators and lower prices for users. Using set-top boxes with broadband Internet connections, video can be streamed to households more efficiently than current coaxial cable. (more…)
