Reliance Communications the Largest CDMA + GSM operator of the country has announced that it would give its subscribers 24 hours of free call facility on Sunday (March 28) as part of its 100-day celebratory period of achieving the 10-crore subscriber landmark. The offer began at 12 in the midnight and will be in place till 12 on Sunday night. All new and existing customers can avail of this opportunity
“As part of this special one-day offer, we will offer all our subscribers unlimited calling (including local, STD and roaming) free of cost on our network. “This unique offer will be available to all new and existing Reliance customers across CDMA, GSM and Hello services. In terms of size of inventory, this is one of the biggest celebratory airtime inventory ever offered by any telecom operator world over on a single day,” Reliance Communications President Mahesh Prasad said in a statement. “We now have set the target of achieving next 10-crore customers on our wireless network in a record time of 1,000 days,” Mr. Prasad added.
RCOM launches mobile no’s starting with 7 in Tamilnadu

Reliance Communications The largest CDMA + GSM telecom operator of the country has announced the launch of first ever 7 Series mobile number called Lucky 7 for its GSM customers in Tamil Nadu. The Department of Telecommunications has allotted the brand new 7667 series for RCOM making it as the first telecom operator to launch 7 Series in Tamil Nadu
Somasekhar Ganapathy, Hub Head – Tamil Nadu and Kerala, Reliance Communications, said, “In a crowded 9 series market, the allotment of the new number series beginning with 7667 will differentiate our services in the most effective way.’’ Somasekhar also said that his company would be offering the 7 series with immediate effect on both its pre-paid and post-paid platforms across its GSM network in Tamil Nadu.
Rcom and Polycom Inc. Introduces worlds first Wireless Video Conferencing service

Reliance Communications, India’s largest and only telecom operator offering nationwide CDMA and GSM mobile services, has parterned with Polycom Inc. , the global leader of video and voice solutions, to introduce world’s first wireless, high-resolution video conferencing service. This Service is expected to drive mainstream adoption of visual communications within two to three years and it will be marketed through Reliance ADA Group’s retail arm, Reliance Webstore Limited.
Bundling the easy-to-use Polycom video QDX 6000 conferencing system with dedicated VPN connectivity through the Reliance Netconnect Broadband+ wireless broadband data card, the service significantly lowers the price barrier to adopting video conferencing and is expected to be a mass enabler of video conferencing usage across multiple industry verticals in India. Reliance Communications achieves 100 mn subscribers in India

Reliance Communications, Indian’s Largest Telecom service provider has announced a milestone of achieving a subscriber base ( GSM and CDMA ) of 100 million for its wireless services. With this, the company has become the fourth-largest operator in the world, serving 100 million customers in a single country. Rcom is expecting to double this subscriber base within next Three years.
“The landmark, 100-million mobile customer base makes us the youngest telecom operator to achieve this milestone in such a short span of time – seven years of operations,”, ”As we take the leap to achieve the 200 million mark, we will lead it from the front with more customer-centric innovations and service approach,” said group chairman Anil Ambani.
On this achievement, the company plans to take its broadband network with speeds of up to 3.1 mbps beyond 60 cities within the next 100 days and plans to start a customised ’100 Million Caller Tune’ in 24,000 towns and 600,000 villages across the country.
RCom all in one social networking application Socially

Reliance Communications, has announced the launch of its trendy new VAS application “Socially”, A 3G ready mobile phone application that bridges the gap between social networks and everyday mobile usage. Socially can be downloaded from RWorld and users can subscribe to it at Rs. 10 / 30 days without having to pay any additional browsing charges. The new application is designed to enable users to follow the recent activity of friends and to update their status on different social networks like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn through a single client. Initially this Service is available for GSM subscribers but soon would be extended to the CDMA subscribers as well
At present “Socially” is compatible with Symbian platforms and works well on LG and Samsung phones and also with phones running on Microsoft operating system (OS). Company will soon look forward for compatibility with other new OS as well. Developed in partnership with Antarix Networks, a Singapore-based telecom start up which creates mobile communities Socially is extremely secure and brings a host of other interesting features such as alerts of friends’ activities on the idle phone screen. Reliance Communications new tariff plans on wireless landline

Reliance Communications has announced a new tariff plan for their wireless land line subscribers throughout the country. As per the new offer, there will be “one single flat rate for all local and STD calls anytime anywhere in India, without any conditions or restrictions.” The pay per call tariff is at Rs 1 for a 3 minute pulse and the pay per minute is at 50 paise/min as available in Reliance GSM . Existing ‘Hello’ subscribers can now choose between pay per call at one time recharge of Rs 38 and pay per minute at one time recharge of Rs 48.
